“Sabores de Guidintesta” in Belver (Gavião)
In the beautiful village of Belver, where the Castle looks at the Tagus river from the top of the valley, the Restaurant “Sabores de Guidintesta” offers us a homemade cuisine and regional flavors in an unpretentious space.
Here the Alentejo gastronomy has a prominent place but we also find other knowledges and flavors in a rustic and informal atmosphere.

From the daily suggestions we choose “Bacalhau à Lagareiro” (photo above) and “Nacos de Vitela” (photo below).
The portion of food are enough for an adult and the prices are fair.
The wood predominates in the decoration, giving this space a rural environment that is reinforced by the use of elements and tools used in the land’s labor. The region’s agricultural activities are well attended here with a closer look.
The restaurant was almost full when we arrived and maybe because of that, there was some delay in the service. Many tables were occupied with local workers who took advantage of the well-made daily suggestions at an affordable price.
Located on “Capitão João Pires” Street, it’s very visible for those who pass on the EN 244, the main road that crosses the village towards Gavião, county seat.
