PR4 FAF – Riverine Green Trail (Fafe)
“PR4 FAF – Riverine Green Trail (Fafe)” is a marked circular trail in Fafe municipality, about 3km long. Starting near the Camping, the route develops around the Queimadela Dam, crossing thick forests with never lose sight of the water surface. I walk towards the wall of the dam and on the other side, turn right along a dirt trail.
Step by step, always following the banks of the reservoir and with a privileged view, I enjoy the tranquility of this place. The birdsong and the sound of some small streams relax the spirit in the shade of pines, oaks, eucalyptus, alders and poplars.

A path of large slabs guide me to “Repulo”, a small rural village where granaries and typical Minho stone houses are the main attraction. The threshing and the vines where the famous green wine was born invites you to rest. In the shade I cool off before continue to walk. I note the existence of recent human activity, the paths are clean, straw lies to serve as food for cattle and some cloths dry in the sun.
I arrive to Aldeia do Pontido – Turismo de Aldeia. The sound of water falling through the rocks hidden in dense vegetation is a natural calming and along with the stunning beauty, it makes me want to stay a little longer.
In the final section of the route, the former “levadas” leads me to the picnic area next to the Camping, where I finish to hike this circular route.
Note: Due to no battery on my GPS, the file is incomplete for the last few meters.
