In “O Robalo” Restaurant at Sabugal, grilled food are the kings and their throne an imposing fireplace where they rest on a huge iron grill. Here, in full view, they are made right on time, no more or less, so that succulent and tasty food enrich the tables of a space that once was a barn.

If grilled meats are the specialty, the lamb being the most emblematic dish, there wasn’t much else to decide. At the table came three platters with lamb, pork belly and pork spare ribs cut into small pieces. Combined with the qualities of the meats, the ember of holm-oak where they are made also helps to raise the palate. What seems so simple is not always well achieved, but the genuine kitchen of “O Robalo” Restaurant fills our soul.
To conclude, the traditional corn popes are always a good option for those who prefer sweets. I choose however for a delicious sheep cheese.
The tasty and juicy meats were accompanied by salad and chips.
In the rustic and simple decoration stands out the high wooden ceilings with beams from which drop two voluptuous iron lamps.
