O Casco Restaurant (Machico – Madeira)
“O Casco” restaurant is located in the center of Machico, very close to the bay and the beach. Today we chose not to dine in the apartment, our headquarters during this stay in Madeira, and we chose a restaurant nearby so that we didn’t waste much time. We all need a rejuvenating night’s rest.
We parked at Municio Square and walked to the restaurant. The evening was pleasant and so we decided to have dinner on the nice covered terrace.
Almost immediately we ordered some limpets made on the plate with butter, garlic and herbs (photo above). What a divine starter! Fresh and tasty, it was the perfect option to start the meal.
Without major gimmicks, the food here is genuine, with fresh and well-prepared products that emphasizes all regional flavors and knowledge.
The interior decoration is predominantly made of wood in a rustic, simple and unprejudiced theme. By the way, so should the food be.
For main course we chose a fish kebab, with local fish of course.
We ended with a fresh passion fruit pudding as the evening required and to finish a fisherman’s “poncha” (photo below).
Without major gimmicks, the food here is genuine, with fresh and well-prepared products that emphasizes all regional flavors and knowledge. When, above all it’s served with sympathy, we can only be satisfied.
