Number 77 of Santa Luzia Road in Lavos, county of Figueira da Foz, is reserved for those who seek a simple and honest meal. Behind a discreet door, in a modest house, we find a space where less is more, decorated with small details of refinement and modernity. The kitchen of “Setenta Sete” (Seventy Seven) where the tasty daily suggestions (not many but enough) are made, is opened to the hall with about 40 seats.

In the slate frame written in chalk we found the daily and some alternative suggestions (at affordable prices) to please almost everyone. Today we eat Shrimp Curry (photo above) and Pasta with Chicken and Mushrooms (photo below).

Well seasoned curry lays over white rice, with the freshness of coriander to aromatize the composition. In pasta the fresh tomato acidity combined perfectly with mushrooms and chicken, leaving to the grated cheese the finish of this dish. With a good wine menu it will not be that difficult to choose the best accompaniment for this meal, even the house red wine served by the glass proved to be a good surprise.

We finished the meal with a Caramel Cheesecake (pictured above) with a peanut granulated topping and a refreshing Mango Mousse. We already knew the famous “Pillow of Lavos” reason why we opted for other suggestions but if you haven’t proved it yet, I strongly advise to do so.
The location of “Setenta Sete” on a busy road makes parking on site difficult. The alternative is to look also at cross streets. If you want to dinner, I advise you to book first.
