In Vidago, “Fernando” is synonymous with pizza
After completion of the Hiking trail from Vilas Boas to Oura I took a little “jump” to Vidago, just next door, to prove the pizzas of Fernando’s Pizzaria. If the route is done from Oura to Vilas Boas, we can recover the energy lost in Quinta do Olival Restaurant’s in Vilas Boas, open only at the weekend. A stone house, where we find a welcoming space fusing a traditional setting with a contemporary portuguese cuisine. Here “posta barrosã” is delicious and I highly recommend.
However, as I finished the walk in Oura, the option that afternoon were the pizzas made in a wood oven and with the decades of experience of Mr. Fernando. Among the great diversity of the menu, we chose the pizza “À Fernando” and “Tropical” and not regretted it. Well composed, with fresh and tasty ingredients after cooking over a wood fire, take on new dimensions in a crunchy crust base. Here is a suggestion.
