Organized by BootCamp Soure, this footpath unsigned, about 10 kms, had its beginnings in the village of Casmilo, municipality Condeixa-a-Nova.
We reached the village under a heavy downpour that the first steps began to disperse.
The first 2 km are made of asphalt, the road linking Casmilo the Sierra de Janeanes.
By passing the village, we follow the right, finding a ground trail strike that took us through old fields of culture, shredded stone walls almost hidden by the dry grass and moss.
A small pool persists the erosion of time and still allows for some species of fauna and flora in the remainder of its waters. It may be also used as cattle trough in the mountains that meets the pasture needed for their livelihood.
We reached the village of Chanca and off the chapel rested a bit taking the opportunity to regroup.
Continued into the mountains, a dirt road when we discovered on our left a wonderful views over Rabaçal.
Among paths flanked by native vegetation and with some wind towers as a backdrop, we began the descent to the valley where we would find the renowned Buracas the Casmilo. The Buracas are horizontal development wells caused by the nuclear rebates of the hill. Buracas are also the destination of many practitioners of outdoor activities such as climbing and abseiling.
We go through the last 1500 meters to rediscover again the village of Casmilo where we finished the walk.
