In Serra do Caramulo, more precisely in Jueus village, I found “Casa do Lagar Miradoyro”, a restaurant where traditional Beira Alta cuisine (and not only) is valued in a tasty and well-prepared dishes.
The restaurant room, with a simple and sober decoration, invites you to contemplate the mountains and the village.

And it is in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere that comes to the table one of the daily suggestions: “Rojões” (pork roes) with golden potatoes, rice black pudding and greens (see photo above). How wonderful!
Despite being a gastronomic delicacy a little bit “heavy” for dinner, it was with great pleasure that, little by little, the clay dish was empty. Intersperse each fork with a sip of regional red wine, and with the family as company, it was the perfect combination for a memorable evening.
As tempting as it was, there was no more room for dessert and after coffee we returned to our room for a well-deserved rest.
Casa do Lagar Miradoyro will be a place to take in consideration as a starting point for an upcoming discovery of Serra do Caramulo. I will certainly be back.
